From the foreign land of Korea, Kurt “BananaSoup” Baek is your fellow 26 year old “kid” who likes to play all sorts of different games. Fast forward to January 2019, with the Thronebreaker leader update for Gwent.

Kurt finally stepped into the game and experienced another masterpiece. He loved it so much, he wanted to let more people of his nation know about this game. So he streamed, make video guide content on Youtube, and he translates different English guides to Korean. And now, he’s here.

Somewhere over the eastern seaboard, during the summer of 2017, a comet blazed a trail across the midnight sky. Under the fateful aura of its other-worldly light, a young computer programmer would discover an online CCG known as Gwent. His passion for the game grew and grew, until it burned with a power that superseded even that of the comet. He would go on to fell friend and foe alike in his insatiable thirst for absolute mastery of the medium. The man knew that his pursuit of greatness would be indefatigable until he had achieved true victory. And so he journeyed on…

Some say his journey still continues to this day.

Nimraphel
Competitive Pro

Nimraphel is a 33-year old Dane living in Prague, Czech Republic, who has played Gwent since Closed Beta 2016. Since the launch of pro ladder, he has regularly featured in top 100, and his greatest achievement in Gwent is 2nd place at the Red Dragon tournament, which netted him 2000$ in prize-pool. His favorite faction is, of course, Skellige. More of a tournament than a ladder player, Nimraphel hopes to improve his laddering skills in 2019 so that he may be able to test his skills on a bigger stage.

He currently works as Head of Research in a think-tank for European Policy. When not working and playing Gwent, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, friends, and his cat, Freya, either socializing around some beers, playing boardgames or doing sports.
